04 AMP Scoring

Simplified antimicrobial peptide scoring.

The goal is to understand the type of filters that appear in an AMP funnel:

  • Length.
  • Net charge.
  • Approximate hydrophobicity.
  • Potentially problematic motifs.
  • Penalty for non-amino-acid characters.

This scoring is didactic. It does not replace QSAR models, MIC/MBC assays, hemolysis, cytotoxicity, or expert criteria.
